Watch the full recording of the National All-Party Animal Protection Debate, where candidates from four of Canada’s major political parties went head-to-head on how they plan to protect animals and strengthen federal laws. From farmed animals to wildlife to beloved companions, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

This debate was a joint project of Animal Justice, Montreal SPCA, BC SPCA, Vancouver Humane Society, and World Animal Protection. All parties with representation in Parliament were invited to participate.

Karman has more than 20 years of experience as a communications professional, with the unique perspective of being on both sides of the camera. Karman worked as a reporter and anchor for Toronto's 24-hour news channel - CP24. Previously, Karman spent over ten years as a communications advisor to the Premier of Ontario and several cabinet ministers. She served as the Premier’s Director of Issues Management and Legislative Affairs. She has also held senior positions in campaigns at the municipal and provincial level. Karman currently manages a boutique communications firm specializing in media relations, communications strategy, media training and crisis communications.
